A Variable Speed Filter Pump is a pump that move water from the main drain and the skimmers of the pool through the filter then back to the pool and spa jet returns and water features. These pumps save money by running at a variable speed to use less energy compared to running at full speed. The speed can be programmed with pool computer automation.
A Cartridge Filter is a filter that contains cylindrical cartridges held together by circular bands. Depending on the size of the pool, cartridge filters need to be cleaned every 3-months and the cartridges need to be replaced when the bands break.
Diatomaceous Earth Filter (DE Filter) is a filter with curved screen filter elements that must be coated with diatomaceous earth powder. DE filters can be backwashed to allow for a partial clean, and should be completely taken apart and cleaned every 6 months.
A Cleaner Pump is is a pump that sucks water from the pool jets return line and sends it down an independent return line to run a robot cleaner.
A Pool Heater is a heater that transfers heat to the water flowing through metal tubes that heats the water traveling back to the pool / spa jets over time with recirculation. Heaters are usually fueled by natural gas or propane gas.
An LED Pool Light is a pool / spa light that has the ability to change colors into different individual colors or color shows. LED lights are most commonly connected to a computer automation system for the most convenient access control.
A Pool Computer is an automation device that is usually controlled with a smart phone app, indoor panel or hand held remote. Pool computer automation systems use time and temperature data to allow for programming of variable speed filter pump, LED pool lights, cleaner pumps, pool heaters, and any other accessory electrical devices like landscape lights, etc. Pool computers also allow for the immediate on / off control of pool equipment based on desire for use like turning on / off water or fire features.
